Synopsis

Amy and her boyfriend return to the restaurant where they first met. The evening opens as a quiet relationship drama, but a slow, mounting pressure sits under every exchange. Held in a single unbroken take, the film stays with the couple in real time until the warmth curdles into something far darker.
Behind the Film
Amy & I was shot in one continuous take, the camera never cutting away from the couple. It went on to win widely on the festival circuit, including Best Actress for Eline Havenaar and Best Original Music, with 13 wins and 26 nominations in total.

Director
Bastiaan Rook is a Dutch filmmaker from Hoofddorp. Self-taught, he came up through acting in commercials and working on sets before moving behind the camera, making films with friends and learning by doing. He considers On Air (2019) his debut as a director. Amy & I, shot in a single unbroken take, became his most awarded film to date.

Amy & I unfolds in real time, a single continuous shot that never lets the audience look away. What begins as an ordinary dinner is tightened frame by frame, until there is nowhere left for either of them to hide.
