Room Temperature“What does it take to belong?”

Roni is a Taiwanese writer and director, based in Taipei, and hoping to return to work in London. He was one of the inaugural cohort of the National Film & Television School and Amazon Prime Video's Craft Academy, with experience working on productions from major channels such as Amazon, Disney, BBC, and HBO.

Roni is currently an Assistant Director at 27 Design in Taiwan. He is developing a feature screenplay with Emmy-nominated platform OTV, as one of their 2023 Writing Fellows. STOP, Roni's thoughtful and life-affirming script, has been awarded funding as a result of pitching to the Sundance Institute, and is in active development.

Animating with self-taught skills for artists like Khruangbin and Knxwledge, and participating in W+K London's The Kennedys 2020 and Livity's In Future List 2022, Roni's animation career has come a long way in the short time since university. He has recently received OTV's "Pitch, Please!" grant to realise his first longer-form animation STOP.

Roni has also made films as a duo under the name Bagels, with projects which have won international awards, premiered in London's Rich Mix Cinema, appeared in the promotional materials for COP27, and been distributed globally.

Roni is also a very talented street dancer, and an excellent cook.
